I have lived in Norfolk for 12 years having moved from Sutton, Surrey with my husband’s job. I have three children aged 16, 13 and 11. I first joined Sunbeams as a parent in the Summer Term 2003 at which time I volunteered to be Treasurer on Sunbeams Committee. I served on the Committee for 4 years until my youngest moved on to primary school. I then joined Sunbeams as a practitioner in September 2007 and became Deputy Manager the following year.
BTEC National Diploma in Caring Services (Nursery Nursing), Child Protection, Safeguarding Lead Practitioner, First Aid, Fire Safety, Food Safety, EYFS training, Numerous courses regarding Special Educational Needs and behavior, Asthma and epi-pen training.
I have worked with children in a variety of settings since leaving school. I gained my Nursery Nursing qualification in 1995 and worked as a pre-school assistant until the birth of my first child. Both my sons attended Surlingham School and when my daughter was 2 ½ Sunbeams Pre-school was recommended to me by friends. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time at Sunbeams and I began working on a casual basis when extra staff were needed or to cover staff absence. In 2007, when my daughter started school, a permanent position became available and I started working on a part time basis. Working with pre-school children is a very rewarding job and it is a privilege to be part of their early years development.
Level 3 NVQ. Asthma and epi-pen training.
